She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Broadcast Journalism at Howard University, following her tenure at Norfolk State University.
With a passion for truth and narrative, Dr. McWhorter is known for her inspirational teaching style, encouraging students to tell stories that reflect their culture, experiences, and calling. Her work centers on empowering the next generation to produce meaningful, perspective-driven media.

Before stepping into academia, Dr. McWhorter spent nearly a decade as a national
television producer, traveling the country to document powerful, real-life stories of hope and transformation. A skilled storyteller behind and in front of the camera, she continues to write, shoot, and edit for visual media platforms-bridging theology, media, and truth.
